Hue lights to soon Sync with Movies & Games
Since the new era of technology…or rather five years ago when our well-known brand Phillips introduced its Hue range, bringing an introduction to smart lighting. Many companies have joined this initiative now. Phillips has still managed to stay distinct through expanding and adding platform partners and creating new bulbs appealing to a variety of audiences: homeowners, businesses and offices, etc. This year Phillips has made a number of additions and changes in its product line.
Phillips has now decided to commemorate its ‘Hue’ initiative by making its smart lights even smarter. For its five year anniversary for the Hue range, Phillips is making it a possibility to synchronize the lights with movies, music as well as our good old video games.
Dubbed Hue Entertainment, it uses a multicoloured strip of LED lights. This feature will be able to link with Phillip’s myriad range of bulbs to our supported music players. Leading entertainment brands and partnersof Phillips will sign up to an early access program this October ahead of the public launch. The public launch will occur in December this year.
This new technology of Phillips has been the basis of many years of work, so it is no surprise after hearing trials going on since 2014 that Hue Entertainment is present.
Along with Hue Entertainment, Phillips has also made adaptations to some of its technology as seen in the following as well as expanded its product line.
In addition to Hue Entertainment, Phillips has also made a debut this year with other side-serve technology like Hue Tap, Hue Motion Sensors and wireless dimmer switches. These three features are enhancements of the Hue’s Apple HomeKit compatibility and are set to take place in October this year (2017). The features make it a possibility to be able to form extra app scenes for people in their homes. It works through Apple’s smart home platform.
There is a change in starter kit this year also. Options to either a two-bulb kitor a four-bulb kitwill replace the three-bulb kit. Detailing the costs, the white-only bulb kits $99, and the white ambience bulb kits and the colour bulb kit are $149 and $199, check them out below.
Overviewing the last significant change, the Zigbee’s lighting standard will continue to be supported by Phillips.
