With DreamScreen dead there are many more alternatives now on the market. Philips Hue have released Hue Sync as an app and also HDMI box so you can sync your TV with your Hue lights.

The Hue Sync HDMI Box allows you to connect up to 4 HDMI devices to this box which then has an output to your TV, this allows it to set the colors of your Hue lights in your home and around your TV. You can use Hue Plays bars attached to your TV or the new Hue Gradient Light strips designed for this purpose and creating LED lighting behind the TV.
